Wolfsberg Castle
Wolfsberg Castle is a moated castle in Lüdinghausen in the district of Coesfeld. Only one wing of the complex has been preserved, which in its core probably dates back to the 16th century.
Before 1270, the castle was owned by Bernhard Wulf von Lüdinghausen and passed to the Lords of Hake in 1380 through marriage. After the Hake family died out in 1537, the castle fell to the Lords of der Recke zu Heessen. In 1788, the castle came into the possession of the Barons von Boeselager through inheritance.
The current appearance is determined by alterations from the late 18th century. It is a simple, elongated plastered building with a half-hipped roof and a single-axis central risalit.
