The castle, first mentioned in 1240, was built by the Lords of Vorst. In the 13th and 15th centuries, it was destroyed several times, and the present manor house was only built in the18th century.
From Castle to Manor House
The original castle, a typical medieval motte-and-bailey castle, underwent numerous changes throughout its history. After its destruction in the 15th century, it lay in ruins for a long time before the current manor house was erected on its foundations in the 18th century.

Haus Vorst is a prime example of Baroque architecture in the Lower Rhine region. The two-story building with its elegant facade and mansard roof blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.
