Ramsdorf Castle
Ramsdorf Castle is a listed building on the market square in Ramsdorf, a district of Velen in the Borken district (North Rhine-Westphalia).
Bishop Heinrich von Moers had a castle built in 1425. This was destroyed in the Münster Diocesan Feud (1450–1457). Afterwards, it was renewed and fell into disrepair again. The existing rectangular brick building with stone elements was built in 1732 for the brothers Anton Heinrich and Alexander Jungeblodt. Remains of the 15th-century complex and the mighty round tower were incorporated.
In the rooms of the castle, the Burg Ramsdorf Museum displays its extensive exhibits on regional history.
