Oflings Castle
Oflings Castle is a castle on a stream at the edge of the hamlet of Oflings near the district of Deuchelried in the city of Wangen im Allgäu in the Ravensburg district of Baden-Württemberg.
The lowland castle was built in the 12th century and was a ministerial castle of St. Gallen Abbey and was mentioned in 1340 as a fief of the Huss von Wolflins family. Other owners of the castle before 1510 included the Imperial City of Wangen, in 1897 Anaklet Sigg and the Sigg family. The castle was restored in 1996 and is privately owned.
The castle complex on a 3.50 meter high castle mound with a diameter of 23 meters shows a small rectangular tower castle with an overhanging half-timbered upper floor from the late Middle Ages. The 17 meter high keep has a base area of 7.50 by 7.50 meters and a wall thickness of two meters.
