Moringen Castle

Die Geschichte der Burg Moringen+
Moringen Castle was built between 1140-58 by Henry the Lion. Later, ownership passed to the Lords of Moringen, in 1379 to Duke Otto the Bad and to the Lords of Hardenberg. In 1734, the castle suffered severe damage during a city fire. At the beginning of the 18th century, the castle was partially demolished and a new administrative building, which is now used as the town hall, was erected.
