Dürboslar Castle
Dürboslar Castle is a late medieval moated castle in the eastern half of the village of Dürboslar, which has belonged to Aldenhoven in the district of Düren since 1972. As it is located in the subsidence area of the Eschweiler Bergwerksverein (EBV) mining company, it shows mining damage.
A castle in Dürboslar was first mentioned in 1478. Today it is used for agriculture, and the outer bailey houses workshops of ARW Modellbau GmbH.
The brick moated castle with a three-winged outer bailey was built in the 16th and 17th centuries.
The tower at the northwestern corner dates from 1620, the manor house from 1841. A new building was constructed in 1852.
In the 1980s, monument preservation measures were carried out due to mining damage.
