Bühne Castle
Bühne Castle, also known as Piun Castle, is a castle in the Bühne district (Am Burgpark 12) of the city of Borgentreich in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia.
When the von Spiegel zum Desenberg family left Desenberg Castle in the middle of the 16th century, a branch of the family established new residences, including Bühne Castle.
The core of the castle dates from the 16th century, and the new buildings were constructed around 1822. Remains of the old castle's defensive walls with loopholes, two two-story gatehouses with half-timbered construction, and the moats surrounding the castle are still visible. Today, farmer Theo Westerdorff is the owner of the complex.
