Baugeschichte und frühe Nutzung
Das Schloss wurde 1731-1732 von Christian Ernst von Berlichingen vermutlich anstelle des alten Heßbergischen Ansitzes erbaut. 1936 erfolgte die Beschlagnahme des Schlosses durch das Deutsche Reich, welches es anschließend als Casino für den nahe gelegenen Luftpark nutzte. Nach 1945 nutzte die US Army des übernommenen Luftwaffenstützpunktes das Schloss weiterhin als Casino. Nach dem Abzug der Amerikaner steht das Schloss leer und ist dem Verfall überlassen.
