The former Benedictine monastery of St. Michael in Klingenmünster, later a collegiate church, is a significant cultural monument in Rhineland-Palatinate. Located on the Southern Wine Route, it was once the nucleus of the present-day municipality of Klingenmünster.

The origins of the Monastery of St. Michael date back to the early 8th century, when it was presumably founded. Initially known as “Blidenfeld Monastery,” it was an imperial abbey. It was dissolved in 1565 as part of the secularization. Over the centuries, the monastery evolved from a simple foundation into an important religious center.
