The Augustinian Canons' Monastery of Weyarn, a historic monastery in Bavaria, Germany, is now home to the Teutonic Order. The complex is protected as a historical monument and bears witness to a long and eventful history, from its foundation to its current use.
History+
The foundation of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter and Paul took place in 1133 by Count Siboto II of Falkenstein on the site of a former castle. The Salzburg Cathedral Chapter exercised spiritual oversight and had the right to propose the respective provost. In the 13th and 14th centuries, the monastery was severely damaged by major fires, but it recovered and, from 1374, built a new collegiate church in the early Gothic style. After a period of spiritual decline during the Reformation, the canons took over the pilgrimage pastoral care in Weihenlinden from 1653. Between 1687 and 1693, the magnificent collegiate church of St. Peter and Paul, designed by Lorenzo Sciasca, was built in the style of Graubünden High Baroque. In the course of secularization, the monastery was dissolved in 1803. Some canons acquired the convent block in 1806, while other parts were demolished. In the 20th century, the complex served as an orphanage, a leadership school, a military hospital, and a transitional home for displaced persons before housing a private school in 1953, which closed in 1984. Since 1998, Weyarn Monastery has been the headquarters of the German Brothers' Province of the Teutonic Order.

Numerous other former monastery buildings are also listed as historical monuments and have partly been converted into residential and commercial buildings.
