Marbach Castle

The former manor house was built in 1575, belonged to the Persenbeug estate from 1816 to 1972, and served as a girls' school from 1867 to 1971. The two-story building block is covered by a hip roof and has round corner towers with conical roofs on the Danube side. The upper floor is opened by windows with fluted sills from the second half of the 16th century. The three-axis Danube facade shows remnants of frescoes and, on the ground floor, late Baroque window grilles with mesh. The five-axis facade facing the Market Street features ground-floor windows of varying sizes and a small 19th-century mural of the Holy Family with the Trinity.
