Latschburg Castle

Around 1710, the baroque manor house Latschburg was built by Martin Fuchs.

The Fuchs Family and the Construction of Latschburg

Martin Fuchs, a prominent figure of his time, commissioned the construction of Latschburg. The Fuchs family played an important role in the region and owned extensive estates. The manor house served not only as a residence but also as a symbol of their wealth and influence.

Latschburg is a two-story building with a mansard roof. The main facade is adorned with a central risalit, which is crowned by a triangular pediment. The windows are framed by elaborate stone carvings, and the corners of the building are emphasized by pilasters. Inside, the manor house boasts a grand staircase, richly decorated reception rooms, and private chambers.

Interior Design and Furnishings

The interior of Latschburg reflects the Baroque ideal of splendor and grandeur. The walls are adorned with frescoes and tapestries, and the ceilings are decorated with stucco work. The rooms are furnished with antique furniture, paintings, and sculptures, creating an authentic historical atmosphere.

Today, the Latschburg Manor House is privately owned and is not generally accessible to the public. However, guided tours are occasionally offered, allowing visitors to experience the historical ambiance of this unique building. The manor house is also sometimes used for cultural events and private functions.
