Blumenegg Manor

The Counts of Blumenegg built the residence in the 16th century on the foundations of a predecessor building from the 14th century.

The exact date of construction is not known, but it is assumed to be around 1550. The building served as the administrative seat of the Blumenegg dominion and as a residence for the noble family.

The building is a prime example of Renaissance architecture in the region. It is characterized by its massive stone walls, the striking corner oriel, and the ornate window frames.

Inside, the building boasts impressive stucco ceilings, valuable frescoes, and a historic knight's hall. The chapel, dedicated to St. George, is also particularly noteworthy.

Renovations and Additions

Over the centuries, the building underwent several renovations and additions. In the 18th century, a baroque garden was added, and in the 19th century, some interior rooms were redesigned in the Neo-Gothic style.

Despite these changes, the building has largely retained its original character and is today considered one of the most important historic buildings in the region.

Today, the historic building of Blumenegg houses a museum that provides insights into the history of the building and the Blumenegg family. Regular exhibitions and events also take place here.

The building is open to visitors year-round and offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the past and experience a piece of living history.
