Construction and Early Years
The Old Castle Tangerhütte was built in 1873 by the Wagenführ von Arnim family. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.
During the GDR Era
During the GDR era, the castle was used as a military hospital, a recreation home, a polyclinic, and a TB sanatorium.
After Reunification
After reunification, it came into private hands.
