Old Castle Küps
History of the Building+
A predecessor building was probably built around 1000 as a "fortified house". In 1151, the knight of Chubece (Küps) was first mentioned in documents. In 1553, a new castle was built on the old walls of the predecessor building. In 1746, the drawbridge was demolished and a stone bridge was built between the church and the castle. In 1868, ownership changed to the Catholic parish of Küps. Subsequently, the castle was used as a schoolhouse. In 1932, a fundamental renovation took place.
