The Old Castle+
A former castle or "Hofstatt" likely existed already at the time of Erbendorf's founding. Originally, the entire complex was located further east from its current site, closer to St. Veit's Church. In 1559, the Old Castle fell victim to flames. Reconstruction took place at the present location. In 1743, the castle was renovated and expanded. The owners were and are the Barons of Lindenfels.
