Langelsheim Manor

To be privately owned

The so-called Adelshof is located in Langelsheim am Harz in the district of Goslar in Lower Saxony. The property, consisting of two buildings not far from St. Andreas Church and the former so-called Großer Hof of the Astfeld manor, is also known as Sattelhof or Forstamt.

The building actually referred to as Adelshof is an almost tower-like solid sandstone structure with three stories and an approximately square floor plan in late Gothic architectural style. Next to it stands the second impressive, also three-story building. Its ground floor is solid sandstone, and its upper floors are half-timbered. The year of construction is considered to be 1552. It served as the seat of the Amtmann of the Duchy of Brunswick until 1832 and thereafter as the seat of the Oberförsterei until 1977.
